Welcome to FoodThoughts. These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of the FoodThoughts app.

By creating an account, accessing, or using FoodThoughts, users agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

FoodThoughts is a private, invite-only application provided free of charge for friends to share restaurant reviews, save favourites, and organise meals together.

Eligibility and Accounts

• Access to FoodThoughts is by invitation only.
• Users must provide accurate, complete, and current registration information.
• Users are responsible for keeping their login credentials confidential and for all activity carried out through their account.
• Users must promptly update their email address or other account details if they change.
• FoodThoughts is not intended for children who are below the minimum age at which they may lawfully consent to personal data processing under the laws of their country of residence.

FoodThoughts may suspend or restrict access where account information is inaccurate, security concerns arise, or these Terms and Conditions are breached.

Acceptable Use

Users must use FoodThoughts lawfully, respectfully, and in good faith.

Users must not:

• Post, upload, or share content that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, hateful, discriminatory, threatening, or harassing.
• Post fake, misleading, or dishonest reviews or recommendations.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent an affiliation with any person, business, or venue.
• Upload images or other content without having the necessary rights, permissions, or authority to do so.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to another user's account, private information, or any non-public part of the service.
• Interfere with, disrupt, test, probe, reverse engineer, or misuse the service or its supporting infrastructure, except where such restriction is not permitted by applicable law.
• Use the app to send spam, unwanted invitations, malicious code, or fraudulent content.

FoodThoughts may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or terminate access where these rules are breached or misuse is reasonably suspected.

User Content

Users retain ownership of the reviews, ratings, photos, tags, comments, and other content they submit to FoodThoughts.

By submitting content, users grant FoodThoughts a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt as technically necessary, display, and make that content available within the app for the limited purpose of operating, maintaining, improving, backing up, and providing the service to its users.

This licence ends within a reasonable period after the content or relevant account is deleted, except to the extent the content remains in short-term backups or retention is required for legal, security, or evidential reasons.

Users are solely responsible for the content they post and confirm that they have the legal right to submit it.

Service Availability

FoodThoughts is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

As a private hobby project, FoodThoughts may be unavailable from time to time, and any feature, function, or part of the service may be changed, suspended, withdrawn, or discontinued at any time.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, no guarantee is given that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or continuously available.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is not permitted under applicable law.

Third-Party Services and Information

FoodThoughts may rely on or integrate information from third-party providers, including services such as Google Places for venue information and external providers for email delivery or traffic protection.

Venue details, including opening hours, addresses, ratings, or other descriptive information, may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.

Users should independently verify important venue information before relying on it.

FoodThoughts is not responsible for the content, availability, or accuracy of third-party services or information.

Suspension, Termination, and Deletion

Users may stop using FoodThoughts at any time.

Users may request deletion of their account and personal data in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

FoodThoughts may suspend, restrict, or terminate access immediately where:

• These Terms and Conditions are breached.
• Misuse, abuse, fraud, or security risk is suspected.
• Continued access could harm the service, other users, or third parties.
• The service is discontinued in whole or in part.

Termination or suspension does not affect any rights or obligations that arose before the account was closed.

Changes to the Terms

These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time.

If changes are made, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of FoodThoughts after updated Terms and Conditions take effect means the updated version is accepted.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in the country from which FoodThoughts is operated, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in the user's country of residence apply.

Any dispute relating to these Terms and Conditions or use of FoodThoughts will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of that country, subject to any mandatory rights granted under applicable law.
